The good: I spent last weekend at a beach weekend with friends!

The bad: come Monday two of them have been diagnosed with strep.

The annoying: finding an appointment to get tested is like pulling teeth. "I'm sorry, we're booked out and don't have any appointments this week." It's not like I could schedule this appointment ahead of time, folks....

Responded to some work messages on my phone and accidentally sent my coworker 'I can pull the data for that client, but it may not be all that gay.'

Describing so vaguely this may be even more incoherent than it otherwise would be.

I have discovered a place that does reputable hobby stuff, as residentials, and it is really great, but also I think it is secretly an autism retreat centre, which is also great but a bit odd and I wonder if everyone realises. They also run occasional weekends for people who just want to go and be there at a retreat, which sort of feels like they know exactly what they are.

I ended up telling so many people, “I think we’re all a bit like that” when they tried to apologise for some trait or behaviour that I completely understood. It was such a comfortable environment. We all kept our name badges on.

Topic came up at work that I'm sensitive about; feels ott to call it trauma but I don't know what *to* call it; been like 6 hours and I'm still teary and frazzled; when does it enddddd. +_+ Every time I think I have enough distance, some tiny thing happens and my whole body is sick. Knew it was a mistake to enter the convo, but alternative is ignoring all convos and never getting any better with it. lol triggerrrrrrd. Ugh. Plus it's over something stupid (think like "discussions over whether online shopping or physical shopping is better for business". Not really that but that kind of level of "should not be emotional in any way" topic. x'D halp im broken).

At least I happen to be writing about this whole kind of thing atm. Grist for the mill.

Another day, another hair splinter to remove! This one was in my toe! It felt like a blister! Only a speck of hair poking out! I had to use tweezers! I thought it would be tiny! But it was 3mm! I've had like 3mm of hair just like sitting *inside* my toe for like a week! D:

Last night I dreamed that danspace got into a huge fight over something, but I couldn't read any of it because someone didn't close their HTML tags properly and it swallowed the entire thread.

Someone messed up and caused issues for me at work, and I made such a (polite!) fuss about it that my boss eventually flat out told me to stop because I was attracting attention to how badly people had done their jobs. I'm relatively new on the team so I did what he said but I'm still mad about it. They were getting flak because they had messed up! Good!

Had a nightmare that I posted a question on my work Slack about this bug I couldn't fix, and everyone started congratulating me for solving the problem and unblocking all the other teams even though I had, in fact, solved nothing.

Stressed myself tf out psyching myself up to ask my manager about the job-code-change that's silently hit our whole department (changed to worse code with worse title, think like 10,000-20,000 difference in average salary in the industry; code was changed on us a while back but I didn't notice because I was too busy doing my job...). Was worried manager was gonna be all 'Why, whatever are you talking about? This is a *great* code! Now why do you ask, hmmmmmmmmm?' and try to bullshit me over it.

Instead just went like 'yeah, it's stuck like that atm, but they've messed up when setting the codes; they based it on some one-size-fits-all stuff that makes no sense for our company; it's making it harder to hire; you've reminded me to check up on that.'

Am now tentatively optimistic there's a chance of sorting it out. I've been pretty pissed about it.

I've hurt my neck by hunching over my computer. Now I'm torn between the desire to rest it, and the desire to do things that require more gremlinlike computer-hunching.

Another team at work have reached out with a job. It's nice of them but the work itself looks tedious. It's a better title and more seniority on paper, but way more meetings, way less time to do what I want, and I suspect more junior + lower expectations in practice. I want to turn them down, but I'm worried they'll feel snubbed, and I'm also a bit like "what if my department was planning to lay me off and I didn't know about it and I said no and then I lost my job??????????????". Were weird vibes some weeks ago, but those seem to have disappeared. I dunno. I hate committing to anything. But I don't want that job. But what if it pays more? Blargh.

About to leave on vacation, but I've been Going Through It the past few weeks and have, as a result, planned nothing.

Will have to fly by the seat of my pants, except I can't fly and I don't wear pants.

Just landed in Germany for a layover. My god, you guys have cookie consent forms for everything. We have them in the US too, but not to this extent.
