I think the sheer stupidity might actually work for them in court; shows a lack of planning which is apparently taken into account when assessing culpability. :')

I was going to say I suspect it was a doner, but shish, that'd be pedantic of me. I just know one person saw the kebab at the scene of the crime. Then another went "oh yeah, a drunk stranger wandered into my home earlier, eating a kebab". So the police are gonna have fun with this report.

Plottwist: kebabman stole nothing; he just enjoys unboxing. So he went through everyone's post, opened it all up, and left it there, along with the remains of the kebab. So I guess he really was a doner rather than a thief.
