Someone asked to be mod on a community I manage. As always, the person requesting to be mod is the biggest dramallama in the group, starts fights all over the place, and is just about the most unsuitable candidate possible. Why are they always like this? See also: people who ask for a debate, who are invariably the people who can't handle any sort of disagreement.

It's almost like the adage about those who want power, isn't it?

I've run away screaming from mod offers before. But I once modded a community that was quite frankly a scum of hive and villainy and no thank you, not gonna repeat the experience.

There was one a while back where a user made a vaguepost about another user, called her names, made a few unsavoury suggestions about the site mods and admins, and then *in that vaguepost*, she volunteered as mod. Then she had a go at a few other users in the thread. Then she flounced.
