I've been procrastinating from reading a book on classical mechanics for the last... 6 months? This one: https://bookshop.org/books/the-theoretical-minimum-what-you-need-to-know-to-start-doing-physics/9780465075683 Apparently physics needs maths, who knew. I can't summon up the energy to go back to learning calculus.

I took a few days off from work just to chill and work on my WIPS, blog posts, and pack up some books/clothes to donate. I have thrown the books into a box but they are in no way packed and idk when I'm going to go to the post office.

I should be playing some piano. I wanted to learn Rei's theme from Evangelion because it's creepy. Maybe I'll make myself do 15 minutes now just to edge back into it...

Reading Captive Prince, apparently. Not my thing at all and reading the summary made me cringe at the id, but I feel like I ought to read it just to spite the misogynists who think women should only write wholesome books after consulting with men, or better yet, should shut up entirely.

I wondered about attempting a readalong but it's so bad, I don't think I can make it through. But I will always support the author's right to write her terrible books with no more censure than men get for theirs.

TBQH...unless you're REALLY into thousands of pages of endless politics, woobie asshole ice princes, and firm seme/uke dynamics, don't bother. I got through the first part when she was writing it online and thought it was entertaining enough, but then it got taken over by all of the above. I hate pointlessly cruel asshole ice prince/sses, and the author LOVES them - like, JFC, IDC about this dude's woobie incest backstory when he's actively enslaving the love interest! And the love interest only matters because he has the healing cock to heal ice prince's trauma! Ughhhh anyway I really ended up hating it, LOL. And the author doesn't ~identify as a woman anymore, so she neatly escaped that dreaded fujo criticism anyway.

oh man I read the whole thing (all 3 books!!) and hated it and I'm not sure why I put myself through it. I think I kept hoping there would be more smut. Was there smut? I think there might have been but it was no good? I'll just stick to fic.

Sympathies, anon, my own sleep schedule is also a mess. I took a holiday to fix it and... didn't fix it. At least this thread title has guilted me into going to bed a couple of times.
