Got a WIP you're excited about? Want to rave about your fave? Or is your fandom absolutely in love with a character who detracts from every scene they bumble into, and you need somewhere to vent? You're in the right place!

Re: Gardening/Houseplants
Date: 2021-04-19 02:55 pm (UTC)before its too late, and planting them in the dead of night or something. But I need to decide soon!
I also kind of want to recycle my garden waste, but I have no room for a big compost bin. I'm not sure if I just have to bite the bullet and chuck all the dead plants, or if there's some way I can let the waste decompose into soil without things smelling terrible out there. I was considering just getting some big plant pots and dumping the dead plants into them along with some soil. If it works in a forest, it should work for me, right?

Date: 2021-04-27 12:42 am (UTC)My almost-zero-maintenance approach seems to be working with the lawn, though. It's all short weeds and wild violets, and doesn't need more than the occasional mow. Luckily the neighbors don't seem to mind!

Date: 2021-04-28 07:32 pm (UTC)The rose is ok, though. It gets sick easily, but there doesn't seem to be much I can do about that, and it keeps going. It doesn't seem too fussy about water or temperature. I give it some coffee grounds sometimes, since I've heard roses like them, but I don't know if that makes any difference.
Beyond the watering, there's not much maintenance; idk how to take care of anything so the plants either live or they die and I replace them. :P Over time, I figure they'll end up selectively bred to be the hardiest plants ever.
