Yeah, and at the end, at his funeral, his mum's just like "oh yeah lol I used to tear his teeth out with pliers as a punishment sometimes, good on you for keeping up the discipline". I guess it was intended as a villain origin story but I was mostly like "why the sudden focus on teeth?? There was nothing about teeth for the first 99% of the book!"

The author is way ahead of you! She took pains to specify that his mother removed his *baby* teeth!
