Recent news out of my city made it to the Big O. It's probably not a good thing that people (and technically, myself) are sharing information about where they live on the site, but I'm really happy to see that there's other GC people here in Wokesville.

ayyy i didn't post in that thread, but count me in as another GC from there :) was born & raised there, which is one of the reasons it really grinds my gears to hear these activists talk about the values of ~real~ residents

i don't think i voted for him (def. found his platform off-putting, but whoever i voted for was nondescript enough to slip my mind now :/) but ngl i didn't realize until recently that he is not, in fact, related. i spent an embarrassingly long time thinking he'd been boosted into office by the carbohydrate lobby. which yeah, i'm sure there were at least several other ppl who thought he had roots here too.

I like this sentence out of context and am now wondering if there is such a thing as the carbohydrate lobby. Big Carbohydrate, spending millions on hit pieces against the Atkins diet? Seems more plausible than much contemporary politics and yet here we are.

hahaha i feel like there probably is. isn't the whole "all children must have milk or their bones will be dust by the age of 10" thing pushed by milk companies, aka the dairy lobby? i'm sure there are shady, shady bread companies up to the same tactics :P

A while back I mentioned TRA stickers in my area on there; someone suggested putting ukraine flag stickers over them, and next time I went out someone had already done it. Can't know if it was just coincidence, but I like to think it was a group effort. :)
