I find it interesting that they've developed these complex webs of relationships between the cats when most people who watch it won't even know the names of most of them. I can't really think of anything like it? It feels like a distillation of fandom to its raw elements. Put some blank counters on a board, someone goes "they're brothers!", someone else goes, "and the younger one is jealous of the older one but secretly wants his approval, and they have an ex in common, and the older one hates loud noises, and...".
