I don't have the context, normally it's about the way gender ideology undermines those policies but I assume this is something else?

TRA arguing that TERFs never seem to care about men working in women's prisons etcetera. I'm just stunned they don't seem to realise that we tend to have strict policies regulating what men can and can't do within law enforcement precisely because of concerns.

Ahhh, right, yeah, they're ignorant of all things that actually affect women. They've never given it any thought, but are men, so assume they're experts and that nobody else has ever given it any thought and they're the first to even consider it.

Yes, we did. We organised and campaigned about their misuse and overuse, and poorly-monitored long term side-effects, for decades. You just never heard about that because you have never cared about women and girls' health, and have never been involved in any of this.

Remember when they tried marketing them as an autism treatment, and everyone who knew anything rose up and said HELL NO? I do!

Then, what, five years later, everyone's claiming they're perfectly safe?

I used to be able to make some kind of dent in the conversation by pointing out all the articles about how bad that shit was for kids with precocious puberty or women with reproductive health issues, but alas, that no longer works. People are too married to their ideology to think critically. (I'd say fuck 'em, but it's, like 95% of the people I know at this point, and I'm not up for trying to make a whole new group of friends, so I grit my teeth while they link to Serrano's specious claims about the lack of risk in self-id for women's spaces as though they were gospel truths.)
