I check out Celebitchy fairly frequently. (I stopped going to Pajiba years and years ago. I remember when it was more about television and movie reviews than watered-down celeb stories. Now it's a nothing site.) Maybe I'm cynical, but I don't think that anyone has woken up. I think that already peaked women have decided they can voice some ideas there, which is great, but I don't think it's pushing anyone over the edge.

I do think it's funny how over it Celebitchy is. She refuses to actually endorse anything Demi said. Instead: "it moved me" or "I related to it because I'm bisexual" or "I recommend you watch it to understand".

See, I totally read her as simperingly endorsing Demi’s declaration, so I am apparently cynical in a different direction! I wish I could quit the site. I block myself from it from time to time, but it’s been a part of my routine for so long.

Already-peaked women making mild comments and getting any sort of agreement is such an improvement over what I normally see. This reveals just how low my bar for joy is about this stuff.

(Meanwhile, in namespace social media, yet another long-time RL friend has pulled the name-and-shame BS of “So and so is a TERF. We have X number of mutuals. [Mutuals’ names], decide how you want to handle it.” This could be why my bar’s so low.)
