Thx anon! I got my plants and my feet wet (balcony's covered in moss, so when it's wet it's like walking on an ice rink, and it's not really safe to walk on it in shoes if you value your life. Whereas I guess my bare feet are usefully wrinkly...).

:P It just rains a lot. It probably means the planks are more rotten than they should be, tbh. The surroundings are a long way from cottagecore. ;_;
