Kyle is a tech ceo/ thought leader / scrum master. With no discernable skills, his preferred method of pitching is to make things up on the spot and insult everyone in his audience. Mortimer has ended up in charge of all the company's practical affairs. He's a nervous sort who was supposed to just be a business analyst. Together, they try to run a successful silicon valley company, despite being spidermite-seal hybrids and having no product. It's probably something to do with the internet so people can make "web" puns. Maybe they're trying to sell their cobwebs as an alternative to a network connection, and/or as an exciting new alternative to fibre.

Kyle is the faaaaaar more hateable one of the pair but every so often you meet someone who's like "Kyle! I love that guy!" and you privately wonder if they have a soul.
