Date: 2021-04-20 11:12 pm (UTC)If you like magical realism, I REALLY loved All The Crooked Saints, which seems to be the most controversial one (people either love it or think it's too out there).
They're all YA, so they're all pretty quick easy reads, I would say. I would avoid her other books to start, because while still YA I think they skew a little younger. I haven't read them yet but at this point I would read anything by her. Her writing style is amazing!

Date: 2021-04-23 02:27 am (UTC)It's on my list! So are >300 other books. We'll have to wait and see if the mood strikes me. I find that the more controversial books tend to be the ones I connect with more, so that's a helpful suggestion....
