It's by Hiromu Arakawa, creator of fma:b, which I love, so I meant to seek Silver Spoon out sometime. But the clips I've seen from it don't look like my sort of thing. Has anyone seen and enjoyed it? It seems very... fluffy. I don't get Fluff. But not sure if it's just the clips I've seen.

(well, she wrote/drew the fma manga, and I love fma:b, which is basically the anime of the fma manga, but there's another anime called fma which starts off the same but came out before the manga was finished so goes in a different direction, so hahahaha I probably just made this more confusing)

I've watched a few episodes, but it didn't keep my interest. The backdrop of farm life isn't exactly fluffy -- I think the first episode the main character is coming to terms with raising animals to kill them? But it's definitely more low key/comedic, compared to FMA. It does have some nice food porn and funny characters.

(Unrelatedly, I loved the FMA manga so much that I refuse to watch either anime adaptation, because that would destroy my mental picture of everything. Is that unreasonable?)

Ayrt

I only read the first few manga volumes, and that was after seeing the anime, so I can't say for sure; my understanding from looking at wikis over the years is that brotherhood follows the manga more or less exactly. (And the music is good!) The first anime apparently gets weird, and does some stuff which, as a brotherhood fan, makes me go 'wtf NO', so I assume a manga fan would feel the same way. Like... one character adopts another character whom they don't adopt in the original. Some of the homunculi are a bit different. And I think there's some filler. I think it must have a different ending though idk.

I enjoyed the Brotherhood voice acting (and Alphonse has a very cute voice!), though I guess if you have voices in your head for the characters, it'll be jarring, at least at first. I hate it when characters get voices that don't fit my version...

Yeah wow took a quick glance at Wikipedia:

> Dante, a former lover of Hohenheim and mentor to the Elric brothers' teacher, is the series' central antagonist.

Well if you want to watch around the same time sometime, I'll put it on my anime list and we can go "wtf this is freaky" together. But probably better to start with Brotherhood! XD

I read a whole bunch of the manga a few years ago and found it quite entertaining, but don't know anything about the anime.

Thanks, I think I'll try it if it crosses my path but I won't work too hard to seek it out.
