Oh yeah, narcissistlit is unsalvageable. I find it only holds my interest when they're describing the factual details of a situation I know nothing about, but then it's more that it's interesting in spite of their writing. I agree it's not worth reading more, I just have a habit of trying to work out how I'd change any bad book I read or bad film I watch into a good one. Treating bad media as a brainteaser like that makes it much more entertaining/bearable.
