Turns out she retired from the vigilante gig because of life circumstances. She's just doing housemaid work to pay her way while she does her degree, in social work; the book confidently states that she will be able to get a job in social work despite her murder conviction; UNLIKELY. I'm guessing she might get away with it if she were based in Florida, or something, but she's in NY.

Anyway, I finished this book. It was silly and idk if I can be bothered to write it up, but might do in a bit. I guessed about half the plot and the other half was so fucking stupid I don't think I can be blamed for not guessing it. I say that with affection; these books do not pretend to be smart.
