My friend has two cats. One of the cats is high-energy and loves to play; the other cat is a bit of a layabout. She's thinking about getting a third cat to keep the first cat company.

Meme, please make your predictions. How many cats will my friend end up with in total?

The third one will imprint on the layabout and become its snuggle buddy, so she'll be forced to get another as a playmate.

She'll end up with four, maybe five cats.

Cat Update: My friend, she of the two cats, brought home a new cat to trial this weekend. He is is regal and aloof, but today, on the dawn of the fourth day, he has finally deigned to play with his new subjects.

My friend has declared that 'this is working out' and 'there's no way I will ever get a fourth cat.' I have saved this message for later.
