I like the (1) caramel I've got so far, because it's salted butter + caramel, so I don't have to butter the bread before putting it on. Usually, I have to decide whether to butter with one knife and jam with another, or butter then wash/wipe knife then jam. Either way, I end up feeling slightly discontented. Untidy. It's not so bad with these small jars, since I don't expect them to last long, anyway, but in the cases where there are large jars that would benefit from a lack of butter-contamination, it makes jam a more stressful/intellectual experience than it should be.

Okay I'm scared! There's only a handful of days yet and I haven't gotten a single choco spread. Today was mandarin jam.

We'll have to compare notes after Christmas....

Btw, can you taste the cinnamon in any of the ones with cinnamon? I can see the odd fleck, but can't taste it at all. Wondering if I'm just too used to more spice, or if they've used a homeopathic quantity of cinnamon.

There was a pear mandarin cinnamon one where I could taste the pear and cinnamon, but not the mandarin. (I liked it. Pear is an underrated fruit.)

I had that one! Though to me, it tasted mostly of orange, with a slight hint of pear, and no detectable cinnamon. I considered it a light marmalade. I often find orange overpowering, so may be just me...

Tried the fig cardamom one today. Tasted of neither fig nor cardamom. I would describe it as "sweet" and "plum". I don't like figs, so I guess this was a win?

Today was strawberry rhubarb. I have yet to open a single chocolate anything. The plot thickens...

We have the strawberry rhubarb one (though today's for us was mango and ginger). Do you have any doubled up? I think the hazelnut choco is the only duplicate (well, triplicate) we've had.

Today was a jar of salted caramel. Never got any chocolate hazelnut! (This dan already has a jar of nutella in the pantry so more wasn't needed.)

I'm very curious what your "not a jar" was.

I went searching for the reindeer house, found no mention of it in my search results, wondered if I'd got an especially weird calendar-- but I got it off their website! Which I have now confirmed does mention 23 jars, 3x hazelnut, and a mysterious festive secret on the 24th...

Ah, I'm in the states, so that explains the discrepancy. Our website doesn't have a list of everything, but it looks like we got some extra options in place of the chocolate hazelnut spreads (apricot lavender, coffee caramel, blueberry maple)
