Yeah, I can well-believe the claims from Tony's that they're the only company serious about helping the farmers. :/ I just wish they weren't so smug about it. I can't get my mother their chocolate as a gift; the wrappers discuss the chocolate slave trade and she has depression. The marketing all feels aimed purely at people who want to feel superior, which I don't think is as big a segment of their potential/actual customers as they think it is. But who knows. Maybe they've done some surveys and some maths. I find it offputting, anyway. It feels overly cynical on their part to assume that people only buy it as a status symbol.
