On the worst bits, I basically can’t tolerate anything fibrous and complicated. And it also combines poorly with the period shits, which my period book definitely did not mention. Once I surrendered to the desire for simple starches, sugars, water and salt, everything was much better. Which, again, was exactly what my period book told me not to do >:( And also, every teen magazine!

I realised I was craving a hunk of bread to rip apart alike a lioness tearing into a gazelle’s throat, and that dark chocolate tasted amazingly delicious, and suddenly when I followed those desires I didn’t feel as much like death.

My brassicas are my friends for every other day. We part ways when the period comes calling.
