Re: Random Internet Misc

Also, I’m pretty sure that my friend’s daughter goes to Bristol, and she’s been telling me about all her friends transitioning including lots of young women identifying as twinky gay boys and posing like they’re anime characters (she showed me pictures). The land that time forgot.

Date: 2025-10-22 07:59 pm (UTC)As in, I was really shocked wandering around Brighton at how White British it was, in a way that I haven’t seen a city or moderately-sized town be for at least 5 years. In the evening, the clientele of all the restaurants and bars, but also the waitstaff which is amazing. Only bouncers and delivery drivers were not. I was amazed. (Filia itself was more diverse)
It is a particular pocket of ruling-class and associated hangers-on, I think, none of the lower classes, nobody who’s immigrated in the last couple of generations. It is its own culture, and it exists in particular pockets in London, and in Brighton, and now in Bristol. I’m not sure it controls such a high proportion of anywhere else. Oxford has the house prices for it, but has too much of an established culture and communities around the university and churches for it to take hold, though it has certainly tried.
