That dress is unwearable: don’t do it!

I have been trying to look at tops on Mango, but their models are so busy being cool that I cannot imagine how these clothes would really work. They have a model wearing a button-up shirt with a single button done up, and her tiny cool bandeau bra on show.

Took a look. I think the Mango tops look cheap! Suspect the materials are unpleasant.

My suspicion, too. Someone linked a reasonably nice and practical top there, but I closed the tab and lost it, so I ended up searching through a sea of cool models in oddly-arranged polyester.

And ah fuck, delivery with royal mail; looks like I'm never gonna see it. EVERY OTHER delivery company manages to get stuff to me without a problem, but Royal Mail always just redirects it to a post office in the middle of fucking nowhere, without a note; I work it out when the delivery fails to ever show up and then go on a retrieval adventure. 😑

Clothes arrived!

The gothy wallpaper-curtains dress is great! Perfect for autumnal loitering. It doesn't cling weirdly at the back like it does on the model. Idk why it falls like that on her, because it says she's a size 8 and this dan most definitely is not. It falls in pleats the same way it does at the front. The tie is just above the waist, so that it fits to your actual waist. Doesn't feel like the strongest tie, but it's flattering, so I hope it doesn't break. It's also one you pull on all-in-one; you have to dive for the neck-hole rather than step into it. Not my preference, but it's not tooooo awkward. The material is light and soft and smells nice.

Need to figure out what kind of coat/jacket can work with it.

:D The high waist means it does look a bit dumpy on me (I think it suits a smaller bust, though tbf haven't tried it with a decent bra yet). But I bought it for DRAMA, not shape.

Now I want a big black wide-brimmed hat to go with it, and a velvet jacket or two...

Yeahhh, looked again to check I hadn't been hallucinating... I have No Idea how they got it to look like that from behind. I can't do the splits wide enough to make this dress cling to my legs. I think the total circumference is about 2m of fabric.

The colours aren't as saturated as the picture (I should expect this by now, but it always surprises me!). This probably makes it more tasteful/go with more things, but would've personally preferred the more saturated look. And mine has much more pale pink and white above the waistline, where the model's dress has more black. This is annoying because it accentuates the bust in a cut that makes things look a bit potato-ey. But the design is otherwise cool. Pockets on each side, and the way the pattern wraps is clever; you don't notice it. I was really disappointed in the past, when I bought Desigual clothes, only to learn the designs disappeared on the back. Made them look super cheap (plus had "desigual" prominently embroidered on them!). I have a couple of garments from there that are nice... on one side.
