+100, and I bet there are people in similar jobs over the same time period who were *fired*, let alone *not hired*.

Plus, I read some of the snippets of the victim testimony (tbf didn't verify its origin, just saw the screenshots that came up in a forum thread); if that's real then he's a sadist who tortured his victims. He's made it clear he's a psychopath and shouldn't have been near any role with any responsibility anywhere. So I think someone making a "served his time" argument would have to be really naive, and I don't want that person making hiring decisions!

And like... As far as the tech goes, either he's not indispensable (in which case, hire ANYONE else), or he's indispensable (in which case, you have an even bigger problem!). I'm assuming a situation has been allowed to develop where people depend on his knowledge and he's the only one with that knowledge. What about project access; is he in a position to compromise systems? Influence hiring? They need to treat this as a security issue imo.

Jfc one of his profiles claims he's a navy vet (sometime before 2010)! looks like that was before he was accused. Fwict timeline is he got involved with ubuntu circa 2011, got charged in 2013, did 3 years, got promoted to a core in ubuntu in 2017, and got formally hired by the company behind them in 2022. So: what the *fuck*?
