Listening to most recent lunduke journal posts because sometimes u just want trashy entertainment lol. (For non-coding dans: he's a guy who was fairly sr in the software world, then it went from libertarian to woke and he got shunned, and now he makes clickbaity vids where he mostly talks shit about his old employer and various obnoxious big companies/groups, and sommmetimes mentions new tech stuff in between calling them all jerks. It's very fast-foody as entertainment goes, but makes a funny contrast to all the po-faced guys who give themselves titles like "community evangelist" and "distinguished engineer" while pushing tra stuff to an empty room.)


Wondering again about the motives for the enshittification of linux. How much is ideology/groupthink/cliqueyness, how much is companies wanting to save money, how much is posssssibly companies wanting to insert themselves between users and functioning software (maybe they think if they break ls, someone will pay them to support ls?). Is the idea for rh to get a desktop monopoly? Or just to kill desktop entirely, because the money's in servers?
