Then I got another story, this time with no point. I assume this one was *written* with AI. Booooo. The stories were my fave part. :(

/me intentionally trying to skip ahead a unit every time I do one of the AI stories, in the hopes that duo hq think the ai stories are too good, making learners too fast, and so jettison them to keep people on the app.

This last one was so sad; they had a human voicing eddy but a robot for junior; felt like a bodysnatchers situ.

Duo stealing people's children and swapping them out for robots is prolly in-character, but I still felt bad for eddy with his creepy new robot son.

lurking in other places were people have been complaining about this shit; apparently there's a website, duolingodata.com, that lets you know if a story is AI or not so you can avoid them. :))) This is good if you're trying to avoid AI by speedrunning the units but still want to play the real stories. I think in the French course, anything with an English title is still human. For the ones with French titles, you can go to the language page on that website, go to the stories page and look at the "debugname" field, and I think anything with a "1 autogenerated" is AI.
