Watched the newest Detective Conan movie in a theatre in Hibiya! Certainly one of the movies of all time.

I liked the absolutely ridiculous ways they incorporated the Nobeyama Radio Observatory into the movie. There's a scene at the end where the culprit flees the scene by driving a moving radio telescope dish and is defeated when the titular tiny detective uses a skateboard to reflect the observatory's laser pointer into his eyes that was 100% predictable but still hilarious to watch. The movie actually includes a few scenes in Hibiya Park, so right after the movie, we crossed the street to try to reenact some of the chase scenes ourselves.

We actually made a second trip to Hibiya Park, since it was way too dark after the movie to get good photos, and we didn't remember the details well enough to get the exact locations. Could remember that Kasumigaseki Station was in the movie but not which exit, for example.

Someone helpfully labeled a map with all the relevant scenes, so now we have a bunch of dumb photos of my friend's Conan doll using my phone as a skateboard and me pretending to be Ran's dad having a dramatic breakdown on a park bench.

Also spent a day in Odaiba making Conan reenact scenes from Digimon. The little guy's been very busy this week.

Man, whoever planned the JR East Detective Conan stamp rally really know what they were doing - all the most desirable characters are in the middle of fuckin' nowhere.

Like, Kaito is in the middle of Haneda Airport. Haibara is in Yokohama. They really looked at how many doujins Amuro sells and exiled him to goddamn Koshigaya-Laketown. There's nothing there!

Was in Abiko today for unrelated reasons and there was a line to pick up the Culprit stamp. We asked the lady ahead of us in line how she'd gotten so many stamps already and apparently, she bought a weekend pass just to hit all the stations.
