Date: 2025-06-09 09:28 pm (UTC)My first thought on seeing that is that she's picked a really stupid title to use while writing under a male name, because most people won't have a clue who she is (and I bet a lot of her old fans haven't kept up), so they'll assume it's menwritingwomen . I wouldn't buy a book by some unknown man called 'women's hotel'; I'd assume I was signing up for nonstop misogyny. I suspect that puts loads of women off. So then she's left with men (usually can't read), and people who know who she is. TRAs don't read, they just pretend to have read things. They sometimes buy books, but only enough to fill a small bookshelf to go in the background of an aggro tiktok, and they've probably chosen all six by now. So that leaves the terven. How many terven are going to buy that book?

It sounds like a strange boast, even if I can't quite figure out the logistics (is it a sexual brag? an implication that he's the provider? nothing feels quite right, but all of it feels wrong.)

Date: 2025-06-09 09:17 pm (UTC)Also looked at 1-stars on Goodreads; the best thing about this book is that it seems to have made various Activist readers furious as they believe it to be (hold onto your hats!) *phobic*.
I felt sorry for the handful of confused souls writing "people said this was really good, but I read it, and it was bad????" reviews. Yeah, you can NEVER trust TRA promotion. *None* of the people recommending TRA books read them.
