Maybe they've got an especially nasty kitchen? =D 5 days for visible mould seems fast, to me...

Yes, even in plastic that seems fast. Or maybe their breadmaker is full of mould spores.

Any fresh-baked or fancy pants bread molds by then in our kitchen. Regular store-bought loaves of the cheap kind last forever, but nothing with few ingredients survives here. (Everything molds in our neck of the woods. Not just bread, not just in my home. It's damp.)

Friend once rented somewhere where she put a wooden spoon in a cupboard overnight and it had mould the next morning. I don't miss living near there!
