Thinking about putting together a SPA hobby project because I desperately need to write some code that isn't for my job. Any suggestions on which popular webdev framework I should learn for it?

I learned React back in the day but it's basically become a completely new language since then. Svelte looks fun. No experience with Vue whatsoever. I know they're all approximately the same and the choice doesn't actually matter, which is why I need an adult to make decisions for me.

I don't know anything about any of them (flask forever!!! :P), but since you're asking us to be a dice roll, I vote Svelte, because you said it looked fun. I had never heard of it until now.

Boy, I forgot how much I hate developing on Windows.

Opened up WSL. Tried to upgrade Node. Couldn't upgrade Node because my Ubuntu version is too low. Tried to upgrade Ubuntu. Couldn't upgrade Ubuntu because I had to turn on Hyper-V. Turned on Hyper-V. Now my Android emulator doesn't work, and unfortunately I value being able to collect my silly little gacha game PNGs more than I value having a nice working environment.

Guess we're running this in Windows PowerShell. Surely nothing will go wrong.

Started putting together a prototype in Svelte, only to discover that Svelte 5 apparently broke the database query library I wanted to use and that I'll have to patch in deprecated syntax for anything to function.

I'm twenty lines of code in and already developing code smells. Life is good.
