One of the puzzles for this year's MIT Mystery Hunt was just an emojipasta chainletter. You were encouraged to 'send this to nine other mystery hunt teams.' As it turns out, there were nine different iterations of the emojipasta, each based on a different copypasta, and you needed to collect all nine of them to extract the real answer. Yeah. I got some real questionable DMs from my friends before I realized what was happening.
(Bonus: The answer to this puzzle was SEND US ONE. Since it wasn't all that easy to collect all nine parts and the order wasn't clear, a non-trivial amount of teams apparently guessed SEND NUDES as the answer and they had to put in a specific wrong answer response saying not to do that.)
