Oh also. One woman's harrowing backstory is that she got groped by her mum's lesbian gf. But women get groped by men on every page of this book. It exists in a strange world where being sexually assaulted by a man isn't particularly upsetting, but being sexually assaulted by a woman messes you up for life. She also seems less upset by the assault and more upset that her mum's gf is super butch. Interesting cultural moment, 1987.

The guy being interviewed also sexually assaulted the interviewer's teenage daughter, which the interviewer is aware of. So the bar is pretty fucking low.
