Anyway, yeah, finished pt2! We enjoyed it as it went on, apart from the "some of the nazis were swell guys!" thread; am not sure jojo needed a comedy nazi companion, though at least he died at stalingrad i guess.

Anyway, the Pillar Men theme tune was a jam, and keeps earworming me. I liked that these 10,000 year old villains were called AC/DC and Wham (pronounced "Whammu", which made it funnier). Hearing Wham exclaim "Master AC/DC!" never got old. At the start of the season, I found Joseph offputting and the Pillar Men a bit bland, but everyone grew on me. Dio is currently still my villain of choice, but Wham made a nice contrast.

Season also treated women way better than I expected; I think maybe it helps that the writer is blatantly as gay as it gets. I'd guess he puts women in the story grudgingly, since they take valuable screen space away from loincloth-sporting men with bulging muscles in bodybuilder poses, but that also means he doesn't seem to have much interest in having women "erotically" brutalised onscreen or stripped naked all the time. Even when he puts Lisa Lisa in a damsel role and has her hanging upside down in a skimpy outfit before Cars grabs her to mime playing the guitar on her legs, she's still wearing more than the men, and the guitar thing is treated in the strangest, most sexless way it possibly could have been. If you've never seen that dubbed, I rec it for the sheer wtf; it comes across like a blooper reel.(Commentary here now a bit ironic considering s3ep1, in which Jotaro spends the whole episode calling his mother a bitch, while she smiles blandly, in a mystifying punchline that I hope isn't sustained, because, apart from anything, it's extremely dull).

S2 is wtf right to the end. Must note that Jojo turns up to what he thinks is a *stranger's funeral*, when he proceeds to mess with the sobbing guests, which is pretty psychopathic, considered. xD I also wasn't expecting the season to end with him kicking the shit out of a Japanese man for the crime of being Japanese, though I was excited, at the time, for Japanese Jojo. Having met Jotaro, eh, though at least he's voiced by the Kanji Tatsumi VA! I recognised him instantly as a Persona delinquent, but was not immediately sure *which*; thought it might be Shinjiro! Looked it up; haha; he's voiced everyone, in everything. So, silver lining, anyway. I don't think he's thaaat great a VA, but I still like his oddly distinctive voice.

Also the decision of a woman who needs to go incognito to change her name from "Elizabeth" to "Lisa Lisa" is perhaps the funniest shit in anything, ever.
