It's nice enough. Still not particularly cheap, but I can't drink more than a spoon a day, so it lasts. I haven't noticed differences between different brands, so I may be a bad judge.
and fwict, ito en, is the standard 'boring' supermarket brand in japan, which may be cheaper (I usually get their teabags, but they weren't available last time I was looking). Just watch out you don't get the 'green tea powder' if you're after matcha specifically; the green tea powder is nice as a drink in its own right, and cheaper, but it's mixed with other stuff so it doesn't work as an ingredient, as I found when attempting to make ice cream with it.
(and my main matcha rec is to use a small handheld electric milk-frother to mix it, instead of messing around with a tiny whisk. I usually mix it with a little bit of soymilk with the frother, so it doesn't splash everywhere, and then top it up with the hot water + more soymilk)

I have an IKEA frother I've been using but I admit I've been considering getting a cheap whisk and just using it if I hard-commit because I've been drinking the matcha plain (no milk.)
