Friend who moved to the US has gone into full hysteria about the impact on the queer community (stating she is one of them) and the need for safe people.

Be real, you are married to a guy. No one is going to think you are bi unless you scream it to the world, and bi people are probably last on the damn agenda. This hysterics just makes you feel super detached from reality.
