Finally picked up English muffins from the bakery. They're fluffy and bouncy. Idk how else to describe them. Dan is eating peacefully with pine honey and cheese.

Are you toasting them properly, though?

A muffin should be torn open, toasted, then buttered while piping hot. You can get away with toasting first, then tearing open and buttering the soft white insides. But the cragginess of tearing is important.

The older I get, and the more I learn about other cultures, the more I realise Elizabeth David was right about other cultures not understanding the joy of toast.

Didn't have butter. I did tear it open first, and put the cheese to toast so that it would melt properly, then added the honey thereafter. On a scale of 0 to 10 how heretical is this?
