This is the weirdest comment I keep seeing people make. Where do you live that you see a child with a hooded coat and mud on her wellington boots, and think it’s more likely that she’s covered in blood?

Hmm. I still feel like you have to be primed to expect children in duffel coats and wellies to typically wade through blood rather than tromp through mud. What is the demonic-child murder-rate in your area? Is there a lack of Peppa Pig merchandise?

Perhaps farming country, where children are regularly involved in slaughtering pigs and are thus not allowed to watch Peppa Pig? Although such people seem oddly well-represented online for how common I had assumed such a situation would be. And also, they presumably wouldn’t ask why she had blood on her boots, as they would assume she had been out slaughtering the family pigs, as all good children must.

On the other hand, I’d expect those people would still see boots with mud on them pretty commonly. So are we looking for people who live entirely indoors, in mud-free environments, and have no exposure to children who play outside, but maybe only see children being creepy in horror movies? Or people who are really asking why she hasn’t cleaned the blood off her boots, as they personally do after every murder they commit?
