Hijacking dan's subthread to ask if anyone has recommendations for wireless/bluetooth earbuds for general use. The headphone jack on my laptop is broken so I'm forced to go wireless if I don't want to fix or replace the whole thing.

Someone directed me to this review site and it looks reasonably legit, so I picked up a pair of Earfun Air Pro 4s. So far they haven't run out of battery life after two hours so it's already an improvement over whatever I had before.

Okay, but what kind of noodles? I feel like I could go for some rigatoni arms right now.

With my instrument I usually notice that my lips have become noodles instead.

...That's a very funny image.

Bandlab desktop autoplays other people's random music and there's no turning it off (you can pause, ofc, but it means every time you play your own tracks, when they finish, RANDOM STRANGER'S SHIT GOGOGO. my current workaround is to set the player to loop whenever possible, but it gets reset a lot.). They don't even normalize the volume levels. x_x It's bad, but otoh, I'm finding it v funny; seems we've entered a real golden age of terrible homemade rap. Just got afflicted by a Christian rap.

Opened up my Spotify daylist and it's 'art deco old money afternoon,' which apparently translates to 40 Lana del Rey songs on a 50-song playlist. Great algorithm.

I always think she sounds like a sheep. Apparently she did some music for the recent great gatsby film, so I guess that's why it selected her for that descriptor. I definitely wouldn't think "1920s" on hearing her...

(Maybe I should listen to more 1920s songs. I'm not that familiar with them but I think there are quite a lot that tell odd little self-contained stories. And there'll be the fun posh transatlantic accents.)

She makes great work/study music, if you ask me. There's something about how she enunciates where I can't actually focus on anything she's saying, so she just becomes the perfect level of background noise.

(Dan, that 'recent Great Gatsby film' was eleven years ago...)

I'm still thinking about my Lana del Rey daylist. I think it has to be seen to be believed.

Frieren OST piano medley. The Zoltraak + Evolution of Magic arrangement is absolutely incredible.

Dreamcatcher is soft-disbanding - three of them aren't renewing their contracts, and the rest have mentioned plans to pursue solo/subgroup activities. I'm super bummed, but they have been around for almost a decade and that's far longer than most kpop groups can boast.

Glad I managed to catch them live before the end, at least! But this probably marks the end of my interest in kpop, too, since I really just cannot be bothered to care about any of the new groups that have come out.

Getting a lot of enjoyment out of 90s bands just at the minute. This album's got some great lyrics:

And their first album is exactly the kind of music I've been wanting to make, recently. So now it feels like there's no point in making it, because that exists. :') This happened to me with the Utena soundtrack, too...

The last track on the album weirds me out (despite me liking it) because it starts off super, super similar to something I DID write. But iirc I did transcribe from a dream. So I'm guessing I heard the song and it got stored somewhere in my brain and replayed in a dream years later, and then I wrote it out as a 'composition'. There is no me. Ah well. Still the least creepy explanation.

Paris Paloma continues to have no subtlety, but the 'men are dogs except dogs are smarter' song she's been previewing on tour goes damn hard.

Also loved that her concert audience is 90% women and 10% uncomfortable boyfriends. As they deserve to be.
