Date: 2023-07-07 04:38 pm (UTC)Currently (1 chapter in), my theory is that this man was a guest. He was reading one of the homeowner's books in the bath. Homeowner noticed. "How dare you! You've got it all wet!" A fight, in which homeowner got bruised. Homeowner killed the bookish bathing blighter. Is now pretending to have no idea who he is.
Don't give me any hints about whether this guess is way off or not. I thought you'd be amused either way. :P
