Thinking about tools a person could use to visualise different political/religious sects for worldbuilding purposes (political compass is better than nothing, but v basic), was reminded of how much I like GRRM's worldbuilding, so may as well link misc grrm stuff I was just looking at, even though it doesn't have much to do with my original investigation:

made me interested in reading Marlon James sometime. I don't really have prescriptive views on what fiction should be, I like as much diversity in styles as possible out there, but I liked that he felt very strongly about what he wanted to do in his fiction.
