Tried watching Travel Man (Ayoade and Merchant in Dubrovnik). Just... no. I often like Ayoade but this show did not work for me. It's just a couple of guys being irritating, complaining about everything, making snarky comments that are less funny than things you and your own friends would come up with and being rude to service staff; it's stressful to watch and annoying since you're reminded that the gig could've gone to someone who'd have made the most of it. The show rarely gives any info about the places they're in (instead trying to be trendy by breaking the 4th wall like "we can't be bothered to factcheck this") and the presenters shut down any conversations that might lead anywhere interesting in favour of making more snippy comments. It's like being trapped on holiday with a much younger sibling who's desperate to be a comedian, whom you long to mute so you can actually enjoy things. Or like watching someone burn money. Did make it visible how hard it is to be a good presenter, I suppose.

Like, I think it's going for charming when it's ultra casual, but it just comes across like a bunch of Etonians got a TV show handed to them as a homework project and couldn't be bothered to make it good.
