Watching old episodes of ER. My main takeaway is:

Doug Ross is like a focus-grouped bad boy with a heart of gold.

Kerry Weaver is the best character.

It is far too good at making you feel people’s panicky decision-making and thought.

I am finding myself making little animal squeaking sounds of emotion.

Also, using All4 which is basically my only experience of adverts for years. Is this Christmas Bailey’s ad set at a Christmas gathering held safely outside in the cold, beset with power cuts? I can just see the brainstorming meetings, when they were planning it a few months ago.

I have reached season 7 of ER, and well into Things I Remember.

a) I hadn’t realised Carol Hathaway was basically the protagonist, and now she’s gone.

b) It has clearly become more sensationalist and “theme of the week”

c) Luca makes me think of the Shortpacked Batman-Designed-To-Appeal-to-Women with enormous eyes, and I now see was introduced to be an alt George Clooney

d) Kerry Weaver continues to be the best. Everyone keeps treating her like she’s not :( But also, I’d thought I’d remembered her as a lesbian, and was surprised it didn’t come up. Then there was a scene with a misunderstanding and she explained she was straight, and I thought I misremembered. Then she decided to go for it.
