Nice. I hate exercise, but walking long distances is incredibly pleasant and getting to see new sights is a real bonus.

Yeah, I like exploring and trying to beat my distance records, plus surprising relatives who are kind enough to humour me ("you walked there AND back?!"). :P Didn't do any suuuuper long walks, longest day's total was about 15 miles, but I suppose that meant we could walk a bunch each day without taking a day's break in the middle. A few years ago I remember being in quite a lot of pain after a 12 mile walk (was out of shape after being in hospital, so that prolly contributed, though at the time I didn't notice how bad it had got) and my feet were totally out of action for days, plus my legs ached, so I was expecting something like that. This time I was fine; got blisters from new sandals on day 1 (d'oh!) but just wore a plaster plus double socks and switched shoes, and had no problems; most days I didn't even get slightly achey legs the next day. :D So now am curious how far I can go these days before my body goes "NOPE". Suspect it's one of those things where you're fine at 19 miles then suddenly feel like you're dying at 20 miles.

Also I feel like I can walk forever on flat ground, but give me the smallest of hills and I'm ready to collapse.
