Post about fandom! Or whatever! Whether it's a rave about some obscure series, or an essay dissecting every last reason why some internet-famous author should rethink their career, someone will probably read it at some point! We also just chat about life.

Re: How's life?
Date: 2022-07-25 01:43 am (UTC)The worst experience I had along the canal was definitely the man teaching his son to shoot a gun. I don't think (?) it was loaded but it was certainly loud.
The best part of the canal was definitely the ducks.
Re: How's life?
Date: 2022-07-25 11:21 am (UTC)We saw a duck nest on the canal the other day! 3 black ducklings. Was surprised, didn't think this was the time of year for them. We mostly get geese, though.
Tbf the female joggers where I am are alright. But I'd ban the men. HUFFPUFF HUFFPUFF and getting in the way every other second, wearing horrible neon skintight things and making life worse for everyone. If everyone walks you can all keep a distance from each other and enjoy the view and the scent of the flowers. But if you've got a constant stream of joggers squeezing past then you feel like you can't breathe in without inhaling their germs, you can't hear the birds over the huffing and puffing, and you can't relax for the whole walk because you feel like someone's gonna bang into you. And you get soooo many of them; at certain times it's more like waiting for a parade to pass by. Add the cyclists and it starts feeling like you're putting more effort into dodging traffic than yoy would on the road. There are stretches that are wide enough for them not to be a problem but there are other stretches where, if they want to go fast, they need to swim or ftfo. Iirc the paths were designed for mules, so they could tow the boats. From the looks of things they went single-file.
But although I cannot stand many of the people on the canal, I do agree that *shooting* at them is mental.
