Finished. There are some good points (I like the design of the mermaid, especially where it's mentioned that she has tiny crabs and other sea creatures living in her nose and ears), but I'm still mentally subtitling this book "Internalised Misogyny: The Novel". The whole thing is premised on "women are super mean" and I'm like "wut?". There's also some terrible writing around sex. The sex scenes themselves are meh, but some of the scenes where people *want* to fuck are just ???? A mermaid longs, with all her heart, to see a dick and give blowjobs. Cannot relate.
