The loophole here, dear genie, is that 'fic I don't like' is a perfectly valid 'type of fic.'

If I had to choose, though, I'm torn between the omnipresent trans headcanons and the glut of poorly-written BDSM 'fic that has plagued my primary fandom ever since someone wrote one 'fic that blew up in popularity.

It's definitely meant as a "what fic can you not stand" sort of question than an active call to purge fandom of those. On my part, definitely trans headcanons or BDSM flood too. IDK if we're in the same primary fandom (surely not?) but I just scrolled through four fucking pages of forced feminisation fic with so much misogyny to get to one time travel AU (sorry other nonny!) and I'm just utterly done.

Most likely not - I haven't seen forced feminization for a bit! Just a whole lot of cheating/angst and watersports, which I'm not particularly into but are usually well-tagged. I'd like to say I'm usually pretty tolerant of other people's oddball kinks because god knows I'm weird as hell, but trans headcanons and BDSM are the biggest offenders of being inserted into 'fic untagged.
