The graun one feels a bit late to the party, though. I remember an office I was in nearly 10 years ago had guidelines to avoid context-switching and promote 'flow state'. We used exactly that terminology, too. So these aren't new ideas or observations. I assume we got them from Netflix or Google or Joel Spolsky or someone.
Also his description of that trip to Graceland... I know meme was talking about stupid, earlier, but those people did sound *exceptionally* stupid and I don't think their behaviour can be explained by an overabundance of screens. Agree on the central thesis, though, just thought we were all already aware, and aware some time ago, and the weirdos he met in graceland were just weird to begin with. But it's a summary.
The Higgs article made me snuffle-laugh. Nobody's rushing to Nobel me, but I couldn't handle a culture like that either.
