Hahaha, the pairings I dislike always seem to be the ones the fandom loves. So idk any specific notp feeling, my heart just sinks when I see a / in the tags...

This is my general take. I can just ignore pairings I'm not interested when filtering by tags. But it's harder to screen it out from pairings I do like...

The ship I dislike actually... spawned from one of the ships that I stockholm'd myself into liking, which is probably why I dislike it, haha. Explaining it is a little confusing, but I'll try my best.

Last year, A/B spontaneously became popular. Exactly how is a mystery to me and most of the fandom, including the people who ship it. These characters have spoken something like eight lines to each other. The fandom is about ten years old and has a lot of popular ships - and yet, in less than two years, this ship has made it to the top ten in number of works and become the default ship for both characters A and B.

Now, character A has a brother - so of course, intrepid shippers set about finding the appropriate side ship for him. I'm also not sure how this happened, because these two characters have looked at each other like, twice, but now C/D is the default side ship for A/B and shows up in the background of almost every single A/B 'fic. It's started to spread to other ships involving character A, too.

I don't actually have a problem with C/D aside from finding it generally boring, and I've actually read a few primary ship C/D 'fics that I like. But there's a specific way that C/D is always used as the sassy voice of reason who shows up to bully character A about unresolved feelings and then waltz out of the story that always gets on my nerves, and now that's translated over into a general aversion to the ship.

Wonder if someone here can guess the ships from the description, lol. Not sure if other fandoms have had similar things happen.
