I found some of these: https://www.ramenregretrater.com/2017/02/08/samyang-2x-spicy-buldak-bokkeummyeon-2x-spicy-hot-chicken-flavour/

Just cooked them and am eating now. They taste pretty good!

They're also the spiciest instant noodles I've ever had. It's not a high bar to clear since I don't usually get spicy flavors, but it's something.

Thinking about eating a spoonful of peanut butter. The noodles are getting hotter with every bite. I am distinctly uncomfortable. No crying, sweating, or dizziness yet, but we'll see.

Nearly done. I had to take a peanut butter break. The *outside* of my mouth hurts. Not just my lips, but the whole area around them. idk if this says more about the spice level or my ability to eat like a civilized human.

Done! My nose is running a bit. That's the most extreme physical reaction so far other than the pain (there is a lot of pain). I feel more alive, in the way you do after avoiding danger. Spice doesn't tend to mess with my stomach much, but I'm kind of glad I don't have anywhere to be tomorrow morning.

Don't die, nonny!

I am curious about these now, though. It's been years since I had something painfully spicy. I remember that the really bad stuff would hurt the insides of my ears. (Meanwhile, my nose runs even with the tiniest quantities of spice.)

Am surprised peanut butter helps! I think I'd find it too dry to aid me.

The peanut butter was definitely dry. I think it helped by putting some other flavors into my mouth and maybe soaked up some of the spicy oils?

Anyway, I had some mild stomach discomfort this morning that went away quickly. I got really curious about how spicy foods could cause dizziness. Haven't found anything conclusive yet but I'll report back if I do!

Interesting, I've noticed peanut butter is often included with spicy Vietnamese food, but I thought it was just because it was tasty. I think it tends to make things seem *more* spicy to me! But never done a controlled experiment.

Glad your stomach was ok! As for dizziness, I guess maybe it could be a sinus thing... Or just a "head mistakenly thinking it's hot" thing, since people get dizzy in warm temperatures and spice feels like it's warm. This isn't very scientific either.

Looks like you can order the sauces on their own, if you ever want to relive the experience!

I also saw a vid of the Tea Bread woman eating them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubqAHNWnhkY She somehow maintains her composure, but what I found most surprising was just how impressed she was by the texture of the noodles themselves. They look like totally standard ramen noodles? The cheapest ones you can buy in bulk at a supermarket? Maybe she was just looking for something, anything, positive to say, I don't know.

I'll... pass... x_x

Am impressed, I flailed around much more than she did, despite taking a break. I semi-agree with her about the noodles. Korean noodles seem to have a nicer texture on average than the bulk ramen around here (mostly Nissin Top Ramen and the cup ones). The shape is generic but they were springy. Perhaps there's a higher standard for cheap noodles where you are!

ayrt

Maybe it's just the way they looked in the video. They looked really standard to me but hard to tell without a taste test... but then I know I will definitely *not* be able to handle those noodles! Might try the regular hot ones at some point, though.
