I've seen people with piercing kinks and injury kinks and ye olden cannibalism fetish, but flesh-gouging specifically and on its lonesome, that's a new one. Thank you for broadening my horizons! 🌺

But that said, the trope I get drawn back to again and again is a character being psychologically destroyed via grooming of some description and how they deal with that, so maybe we have similar tastes. That's more something that comes into my original stuff than something I read fic about, though. Before I peaked I kept writing these things where lgb teens/young adults would get groomed into doing evil shit by corporate/military organisations using the promise of a loving "queer community", where they'd all be pushing each other into more and more destructive things through collective youth and naivety, and the psychological damage they'd experience. At the time I was like "wtf why do I keep coming back to this" but I guess on some level I was picking up on how vulnerable everyone involved was and the tactics in play even if I hadn't consciously put the pieces together.

Date: 2021-08-20 02:54 am (UTC):D If only I could actually write! I had fun daydreaming it but the finished product, while enjoyably self-indulgent to make, was a lot less fun to reread. It'd be nice to return to the idea and do it justice sometime... or something similar. I also had one where a woman got sucked into the social justice world and got used as a puppet for a totalitarian regime that wanted to silence dissent (hiding war footage under cover of 'it might trigger someone' and whatnot), and how she got chewed up and spat out by the whole process. That was quite fun. I got to parody just about everybody. Though I invented a messageboard for it and half the piece turned into people snarking each other on the messageboard, which again was more fun to write than read over. So that would need cutting right down if I were to put it anywhere.
Also yessssssssss that sounds like my kind of thing. I love feeding off characters' negative emotions, breakdowns, explosions, hahahahaha

More wank. Long story and by right I shouldn't have had to dead dove, much less warn for something like that but fandom gonna fandom.
